Committee co-chaired by Paul Le Vay issues report on Bilingual Judges

In his capacity as the President of the Association des juristes d’expression française de l’Ontario, Xaidsart partner Paul Le Vay co-chaired a committee tasked with objectively assessing French-language competency among bilingual Ontario judges and reporting to the Ministry of the Attorney General.  The committee report concluded that consistent language-proficiency requirements should be adopted to ensure quality of judicial service to French-speaking justice system participants across Ontario, and made a series of recommendations to the Attorney-General to improve these standards.  The recommendations in the report, and Paul’s role as co-chair and AJEFO president, were featured this week in the Law Times.
