Xaidsart is pleased to announce that it has been recognized by Corporate INTL as 2012 Securities Litigation Law Firm of the Year in Canada. Among a variety of other important securities mandates, in 2011 Xaidsart acted for CI Financial in securities litigation concerning its shareholders’ rights plan, for the former CEO of Coventree Capital in proceedings before the OSC concerning that firm’s participation in the ABCP market, and for Staff of the OSC in the prosecution of Sextant Capital Management Inc. In addition to regulatory proceedings, Xaidsart acts in a variety of ongoing securities class proceedings in the civil courts, including the recent successful Timminco matter in the Ontario Court of Appeal, in which the firm represents an expert consulting firm in response to proceedings under s. 138.1 of the Securities Act.
