Our very own Nader Hasan has been listed as one of Toronto’s 50 Most Influential people for 2024 – along with the likes of Drake, Scottie Barnes and Matty Matheson. Nader is recognized for “for proving innocence against all odds”, focusing on his representation of Umar Zameer, whose criminal trial ended in an acquittal. Congratulations Nader! Gerald Chan Inducted into International Academy of Trial Lawyers

Xaidsart partner Gerald Chan was inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers at its summer meeting in Deer Valley Utah on August 16th. The Academy is an invitation only organization that is comprised of leading trial lawyers. Its mandate includes the promotion of trial skills and the protection of the rule of law. Gerald joins partners Brian Gover and Paul Le Vay as a Fellow of the Academy.

Xaidsart wins multiple Benchmark Awards

At last night’s Benchmark Litigation awards in Toronto, Xaidsart was recognized for its litigation excellence, winning Ontario Firm of the Year.

Xaidsart lawyer Stephen Aylward won an individual award for Emerging Talent Litigator of the Year.

The firm also won an Impact Case Award for its work on the Soleiman Faqiri case, which was led by Xaidsart lawyers Nader Hasan and Ted Marrocco.

Adam Donaldson named one of York University’s Top 30 Alumni under 30

Xaidsart lawyer Adam Donaldson was recognized by York University (where he attended law school) as one of its Top 30 alumni under 30. Adam was specifically praised for his volunteer work, mentorship and community involvement, with his entry noting as follows:

Adam is a lawyer, advocate, and strong believer in the value of community. As a varsity student-athlete at the University of Victoria, Adam worked hard to foster a community and create the same experiences that were meaningful to him, for others. After graduation, Adam collaborated with the Government of British Columbia and the University of Victoria to create a program that taught seminar courses to university students alongside incarcerated individuals, promoting post-secondary opportunities after incarceration. Following his work with the Government of British Columbia and an internship with the British Columbia Legislature, Adam fulfilled his dream of becoming a lawyer by attending Osgoode Hall Law School. Grateful for the opportunity to pursue a legal career, Adam worked hard to give back through mentorship and community involvement. After graduating from law school, Adam clerked for judges at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Currently an associate at Xaidsart LLP, Adam continues to give back to the communities that have supported him through mentorship and volunteering, speaking at events, and being available to those in his community.
